Coral and Blue Eye Makeup

Happy Saturday! Hopefully, everyone is enjoying their weekend so far :-) Today, I did a makeup look that is colorful, glittery and just plain awesome! Lol It’s a great look for the summer and it’s dramatic, but not too over the top. I love doin the colorful eye makeup looks cuz color is my thing, but please let me know if you’ll like to see any other looks! Sometimes, I feel like I’m talkin to myself on this site!

Anyway, here are the products I used:
MAC Pink Bronze pigment – Inner one-third of my eyes
MAC Orange pigment – Center of my eyes
MAC Deep Truth – Outer one-third of my eye, mixed with some black eyeshadow
MAC Passionate – Crease color
MAC Stars n’ Rockets – Transition color above my crease
I used NYX glitter liner in pink (one of my favs!) in the inner half of my upper lash line and a little on my lower lash line.
For my cheeks, I used NYX Desert Rose blush and on my lips, I used a coral lipstick with some gloss over it.
Please leave some feedback, I’ll appreciate it. Thanks for viewing!

Bold Blue Eyes and Precious Pink Lips!

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. My makeup for today is bold, dramatic and a great look for anyone who likes to experiment with color on their face :-) I have different shades of blue eyeshadow on my eyes and I paired it with bold pink lips. I extended my liner into a cat eye look, but not too intense and I have a blue glitter liner on as well.
FYI: This is off topic, but I wanted to let those of you who view my blog on a consistent basis, that I’ll be less frequent with my blog posts. I enjoy doin my makeup and posting what I know about makeup on this site, but I feel like I’m not getting enough recognition on here. I feel like I’m talkin to myself sometimes and my main purpose for my blog was to network with people and help people who have questions about makeup. So, I’ll still be on here, just not posting as often.

Products Used:
MAC Tilt
MAC Atlantic Blue
MAC Plumage
MAC Contrast
MAC Brown Down
MAC Trax
Lips: NYX Shocking Pink matte lipstick and MAC Magenta lip pencil

Angelina Jolie Inspired Makeup from the Oscars 2012

I decided to do a celebrity-inspired look from the Oscars 2012 award show. I really liked Angelina Jolie’s makeup (her makeup always looks flawless!). Angelina’s makeup artist did a red carpet look with a little twist to it. It looks like Angelina has gold, orange and soft brown colors on her eyelid. She didn’t use much liner and she kept her water line clean ( according to the pics I saw). It’s hard to tell the exact eyeshadows she used on her eyes, but I used what I had and came up with this look.

I applied MAC’S Honesty eyeshadow, which is a champagne, shimmery color, in the inner one-third of my lid with a flat shading brush.  Next, I took a soft tangerine colored eyeshadow from the ELF eyeshadow palette and mixed it with a gold colored eyeshadow from MAC, called Mystique, and applied in to the center of my lids. For the outer corner of my eyes, I used a matte brown eyeshadow from Nars, called Coconut Grove. I didn’t apply this color too heavily, because Nars’ eyeshadows are super pigmented (love them!). Also, Angelina didn’t have too much dark eyeshadow on, so I was trying to keep the look very subtle and as close to her look as possible. I used a soft brownish-gray color in my crease to create the perfect transition to my brow highlight color. Then, I applied a creamy, white eyeshadow as my brow highlight. Lastly, I took the Coconut Grove matte brown eyeshadow and ran it half-way on mylower lash line. I used the champagne color I started with and applied it to the inner half of my lower lash line. I used a brown liquid liner from ELF cosmetics to line my upper lash line. According to the pic of Angelina at the Oscars, it looks like she added a pair of end lashes to her look, so you can also apply false eyelashes to complete the look (I didn’t put on any falsies).
On my lips, I wore a red lipstick from NYX that was darker than what Angelina wore (I used what I have, no need to buy more cosmetics to get a look). Then, I applied a tangerine/orange lipstick from Iman cosmetics on the center of my lips. I blended both lipstick colors together and created the Tangerine red lips Angelina rocked on the red carpet! If you have any questions about this look, please comment below! Thanks :-)

Celebrity OMG Looks at the Oscars 2012: Which celebrity look was ur favorite?

Image
I didn’t watch the entire Oscar’s award show because I find it to be pretty boring (sorry, it’s true!). However, I was curious to see which celebrity looks stood out the most for me. I am hoping to re-create a celebrity look that a lot of other viewers found to be pretty, damn hot : -) So far, I’ve noticed a few celebrities rockin’ the classic red carpet look, which are neutral eyeshadow colors on the lid with a dark color on the outer lid (neutral smoky eye look). Also, bold, red lips complete the classic red carpet look. However, I saw a little bit of a revamped red carpet look with Angelina Jolie, where she wore a red-tangerine colored lipstick and a soft, orange-brown eyeshadow on her eyes. I saw a couple of other celebrities with that same look too, but Angelina looked the best! (in my opinion)
If you would like to see me re-create Angelina Jolie’s Oscar 2012 look, please leave a comment below or like this post! Also, please let me know what other celebrity looks you thought were flawlessly beautiful and I’ll do a video sooner or later for it. Thanks a lot!! :-)

Sexy & Subtle with the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Image
I recently purchased the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette from Sephora and was excited to try out some looks with this palette. I do not have the first Naked Palette, but I really loved the unique, metallic colors that are in the Naked 2 Palette. I wanted to do a look today that wasn’t too dramatic, but sexy and subtle. This is a look you can wear out to a party, going out to dinner, or just as a casual look for your everyday wear (with a little more spunk, of course!).
I used several colors from this palette to give the look more color, since we are working with mainly neutral colors in this palette. I started off by applying the eyeshadow, Chopper, into the first half of my lid. Then, I took YDK, a metallic, pink/gray color from the palette, and applied it to the outer half of my lid. For my crease, I took the eyeshadow, Busted, and applied it with a tapered blending brush to the outer half of my crease. I did not want to take the color all the way across the crease because I wanted a more subtle effect with my look (do whatever works for you!). After applying Busted into the outer corner of my crease, I added a very light dab of the color Blackout to the outer corner of my crease. This will give the look a tad bit more drama and will create a bit of depth to the look. For the inner half of my crease, I used the color, Pistol, and swiped it across the top of my crease with a tapered blending brush. You can also use a Pencil brush to get more precision with the application of the eyeshadow in places you want emphasis. Lastly, I used the color, Foxy, as my brow highlight. I also highlighted the inner corners of my eyes by using the color, Verve, which is a ligh silver color. I blended all of the colors together with the ELF blending brush to make sure there wasn’t any harsh lines and to have a more seemless transition with the eyeshadow colors. You can avoid using multiple brushes for this look by using the double ended eyeshadow brush that comes with this palette (pretty good deal!). On my lower lash line, I applied Busted and Blackout with a flat eyeshadow brush to smoke out the look a little more. On my waterline, I kept it clean with a white eyeliner from Avon. The white eyeliner will make the look more innoncent, but still sexy.
Overall, this look is very easy to do. If you do not want to use the colors I used, there are 12 colors in this palette, so feel free to play around with them! Don’t be scared to mix colors together to get the perfect color you’re looking for. There are only three matte shades in this palette and the rest are metallic colors. These eyeshadows do give you a lot of fall out, so I will suggest you apply your foundation and concealer after you are done with your eye makeup. I always keep a cosmetic wedge in handy to clean up under my eyes before I apply my concealer. If you want to play up the look a little more, you can always wear a nice plum or red lipstick (whatever color you like!) I didn’t go too crazy today, so I stuck with a pink shimmery lip glass from MAC called Star Nova (so, so pretty!). I hope y’all will try this look and feel free to post comments about the look or about the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I would love to hear from you guys! See ya soon :-)

Dramatic Neutral Eyes with a Pop of Pink!

I am Not a big fan of neutral eyeshadow looks! Why? Because I think there’s no point in wearing makeup unless if it stands out a bit from your normal look. However, I did a neutral eye look with a more dramatic effect, by using a dark brown eyeshadow in my crease and building up the color for a more dramatic look. I also smoked out my lower lash line with the dark brown I used in my crease and used some black eyeliner as well, for that extra smoky effect.

I kept my lid color pretty nude, using a beige, cream color from the Sleek Au Naturel Palette. I added a pop of shimmer in the inner corner of my eyes with a cream, shimmery color to give my eyes that extra drama I love! Since my eyeshadow colors are fairly neutral, I decided to add a pop of pink on my lips. I used the Magenta lip pencil from MAC to line and fill in my entire lips (makes my lipstick last longer), and then used a hot pink color from NYC cosmetics on my lips. It definitely made my look stand out more and the lipstick was very inexpensive ($3, awesome!!!). The Sleek palette can be found on their website: sleekmakeup.com or you can do a search for Sleek makeup palette’s on Ebay (also very inexpensive, compared to MAC). Thanks for viewing my blog and I hope you will experiment with this look!

A Wearable Blue Eyeshadow Look!

So, today I was in the mood to do a blue eyeshadow look (I love blue on my eyes!) and I came up with something that was very blue, purple and dramatic. Anyway, here’s the look I did on my eyes today….

 Image
I used mainly pigments for this look. I used a frosty white pigment from Facefront Cosmetics, a light blue pigment from Facefront Cosmetics, and a royal blue color from Facefront Cosmetics as well. I used a dark purple eyeshadow from Sleek makeup in my crease and kept building on each color to get a greater intensity. Above the purple eyeshadow in my crease, I used MAC’s eyeshadow called Stars n’ Rockets as a transition color from the purple to the white brow highlight color. I used a black eyeliner to rim my waterline and lower lash line and used some black liquid liner. Another alternative to this look would be to use a bright color in ur waterline for the blue eyeshadow to pop, maybe a pink or bright green color (that’s for those of u who are daring with ur makeup looks). I didn’t add any false eyelashes, but if that’s ur thing, go ahead and put some falsies on!! I hope my eyeshadow look gives you guys some great ideas. Thanks for reading!
